I work with many local-area businesses and wholesale suppliers. Today as many modern businesses go through technology upgrades, they often retire or replace many good and viable Computers used in various types of processes such as Engineering Workstations, Small Form Workstations and laptops for mobile access Technology oriented Companies go through upgrade cycles and purchase newer quicker equipment to increase throughput of trained employees and improve valuable workflow.

A computer that is 10% faster at a particular task can quickly pay for itself in a couple of months use when performing high workload tasks like CAD and Engineering. Often these replaced systems are far from old or worn out, it's like replacing a Camero with a Corvette for them. These machines can be cleaned, tested and have a Fresh Operating System installed and they are ready to go. They can go back into regular use and provide years of good reliable service. The plus is they are available for far less than their original retail price and still head and shoulders above anything you'll buy at a box store!

I have a certified recycler that comes by my office periodically. He picks up what is considered beyond reuse or re-purpose equipment as well old desktops, laptops, lcd screens, printers and ups's. Call and arrange a drop off as I have only so much room to store in between his pickups. Let's keep them out of the landfills if possible. If you have a large amount of equipment you need to recycle I can contact him and arrange for him to come by your office directly.

In these days of Constant Spam and Ransomware attacks what you need is Backups and lots of them! There are many brands and types of backup software and hardware that are readily available and inexpensive. Contact me and I will explain your options and what and where to buy the components from. One I would recommend is Acronis which offers several types of backups, both a disk imaging solution and an incremental periodic or scheduled backup to an external or internal device. You can also get the software for Free with the purchase of some brands of hardware.

Virus and Maleware

Removal

Depending on the Virus infection it can sometimes be removed by attacking the machine from outside the operating system. What that means is running the machine from an external source operating system and scanning the drive with an up-to-date antivirus and removing the virus and or maleware and trojans. The problem with this is sometimes critical pieces of the infected operating system are then removed making the system non-functional or problematic. In which case the best solution is clear the drive of virus infections or install a new system drive with clean operating system install and move the critical data from the old cleaned drive to the new drive with a fresh install. To prevent this occurrence the best solution is again Backups!

Upgrades

One of the things you can do to improve your computing world is to upgrade your existing computer with the newer operating system. I often see customers who are still running computers with Windows 7 or Windows 10. I don't say that you must move up to the latest operating system or Microsoft Office just because, but many of these programs and OS's are no longer supported or will soon be unsupported. If you're running Windows 7 you are no longer getting critical updates to prevent infections, and unless you're running Office 2016 pro or better, you can't access some email servers because it doesn't support current required security protocols. Windows 7 was a great OS, but it's over! So was Windows 2000 and Xp, but they're done now. Even if your machine says it won't support Windows 11, there are some modifications to the installation which will allow you to run it for a while, maybe even until Windows 12 comes out. Windows 12, however, from pre-release reports has some embedded CPU requirements, which will force recent hardware system upgrades in order to run it.
